Atomic Swap

An Atomic Swap is a term used to define a feature that allows exchanging cryptocurrencies that operate on different blockchains but without intermediaries. For example, to move from Bitcoin to Ethereum, a centralized exchange house is currently required since they are different blockchains. Atomic Swaps allow you to send your bitcoin to the person who gives you Ethereum in exchange for a single blockchain transaction that is reflected on both blockchains.
